Depending on patient’s age and general health status, doctor chooses needed medicine. Before injection is made you will be asked questions about previous anesthesias, your allergic history.
In the past, novocaine and lidocaine were used as anesthetics, nowadays, novocaine is not used at all, lidocaine is used only as a gel for topical anesthesia. Such anesthetics as ubisthesine (aricaine), septanest, mepivacaine provide total loss of sensitivity in a certain area.
If needed adults can be treated under potentiated or general anesthesia, children – under narcosis.
