Periodontology

At the time when caries and it’s complications can be easily diagnosted and treated successfully, the problem of the development and prevention from periodontal diseases (diseases of the tissues which surround the tooth) is gaining not enough attention. Statistics are pretty sad- 95% of adults and 60% of children suffer from this pathology.

The question is how to prevent the development of this disease and if it occurs how to treat it correctly?

Successful treatment of periodontal diseases requires close collaboration of a doctor and a patient. This collaboration has to be complex (therapeutic, prosthetic and surgical). For more than 10 years our clinic helps people to solve such problems. Dealing with this pathology we try to take to an account the causes of it’s development, to eliminate not only the external sign of periodontitis- gum’s inflammation, but also to liquidate or at least to reduce the influence of factors which caused the disease. Our main principle is to treat the patient, not the disease.

The basis of the successful treatment of the diseases of periodont is a good hygiene of the oral cavity. That’s why the professional hygiene- the removing of the dental plaque and tartar with the help of ultrasonic scalers, Air-flow, special polishes and pastes, is on the first place. Also we teach our patients how to brush their teeth correctly and how to keep their mouth clean all the time.

In cases of early and moderate periodontitis we use Vector-system (Durr Dental, Germany). Calculus deposits, biofilms and bacteria are removed from root surfaces by slender instruments nebulized by polishing fluid which contains hydroxylapatite particles, right down to the base of the pocket, without the damaging the soft tissues even in anatomically difficult regions such as furcations.

Complex treatment of periodontitis in our clinic includes not only the removal of an above- and below gum’s calculus and infected granulation tissues, which cause the inflammatory process in periodont, but also vestibuloplastics (surgical correction) of the vestibulum oris, frenules) and the renewal of a jaw structure using the Guided Tissue Regeneration with the help of osteoplastic materials. In order to stabilize teeth with the severe injures of the periodont we connect teeth with the glass-fiber systems and light-cured materials.

Supporting therapy.

Treating pathology of periodont we want to achieve a proof remission of the process. This requires the providing of the supporting therapy. In order to organize this in a more simple way we invite our patients on the control visits (every 3-6 months)
