Periodontal diseases

Periodontal diseases (diseases that affect one or more periodontal tissues) are very widespread. Studies show that almost every patient has certain manifestations of these diseases that gradually lead to mobility and tooth loss if treatment is not received in time. The danger of the disease lies in the fact that it does not display any symptoms in its early stages. It is the doctor who has to give a diagnosis, make a prognosis and provide the necessary treatment.

Why do gingivitis and periodontitis appear? The accumulation of bacterial plaque in the gingival sulcus leads to the gum disease – gingivitis, and further – to the destruction of grooves, bone lesions and development of periodontitis.

If you have bleeding gums, bad breath, swelling and pain in the gums, you should see the periodontist. Periodontist is a dentist who has completed a special training course. Periodontist gives a diagnosis and provides treatment of a periodontal disease and also prevents possible complications.
