The Tari Bird

 Once upon a time there lived a crocodile- a real crocodile. And as a real crocodile he was really scary- with a scary tail, scary head and awful teeth. The crocodile’s character was also terrifying- never in his entire life said a single pleasant thing to someone!

The worse thing though was that he never brushed his ugly teeth. No wonder why all of the sudden a terrible toothache started. The crocodile was suffering hard. He was crying, screaming, but nothing helped, the pain was getting worse and worse.

No one felt sorry for him, instead all animals and birds started to laugh and scream:” Oh yeah, you deserve this!!!”

Crocodile started to pity himself, he started to cry- and those tears were real, not the crocodile’s.

Suddenly, someone yelled:”Shame on you! He’s suffering, he’s in pain. We need to help him!” It was a little bird named Tari.

-         Yeah, right! Help him? - said the Monkey.- He’s the one who’s guilty! Why won’t he brushes his teeth like we all do?

-         How can I brush them, my paws are too short, there’s no way for me to reach them!

-         Hey, open your mouth widely- said Tari and flew right into his mouth, - and don’t even think to close it until I let you.

All animals watched quietly while the little bird was brushing crocodile’s teeth.

-         Well, that’s it- gladly said Tari pulling sick tooth out. - Now you can close your mouth.

The crocodile said:

-         Thanks Tari, you are so sweet, I am so grateful!

All animals opened their mouths so that the bird could brush their teeth also.

That was the first time in the crocodile’s life when he said a good word to someone!
